| Download Stats is a Flash Carnivore client which sniffs packets on the network and represents them on a chart according to the ports used. Stats tells you the number of packets it has "seen" since opening the client, the packets for each port (ports are FTP, HTML, POP3, SMTP, DOMAIN, ICQ/AIM and Unknown) and also gives out the percentage of overall usage for each port. 1. You must download and install the WinPcap and the CarnivorePE applications, located at http://rhizome.org/carnivore. 2. Download and extract the Stats.zip file, which contains Stats.fla (source), Stats.swf (movie) and Carnivore.as (actionscript text file). Download Stats™ screenshot - To run Stats.swf, you need the latest version of the Macromedia Flash player. About Carnivore Carnivore is a surveillance tool for data networks. At the heart of the project is CarnivorePE, a software application that listens to all Internet traffic (email, web surfing, etc.) on a specific local network. Next, CarnivorePE serves this data stream over the net to an unlimited number of creative interfaces called "clients." The clients are each designed to animate, diagnose, or interpret the network traffic in various ways. CarnivorePE is inspired by DCS1000, a piece of software used by the FBI to perform electronic wiretaps. (Until recently, DCS1000 was known by its nickname "Carnivore.") Improving on the FBI software, CarnivorePE features exciting new functionality including: artist-made diagnostic clients, remote access, full subject targetting, full data targetting, volume buffering, transport protocol filtering, and an open source software license.
